
I doubt everyone will "get" what just happened here; but anyone who's driven with a designated navigator has probably experienced this conundrum of the English language at some point.
I wonder if other languages have this same problem.
Edit: Turns out they do!
I completely forgot about "tout droit" (straight ahead) and "รก droite" (to the right) for French, and also Spanish with "a derecha" (straight) and "a la derecha" (to the right); both scenarios kindly pointed out by a reader.
It's starting to dawn on me how much of my French I've forgotten; I'll need to try and fix that.
